Welcome to the Mallee Track Health and Community Service Graduate Program for Registered and Enrolled Nurses.
The Mallee Track Health and Community Service Graduate Registered and Enrolled Nurse Program is a structured and comprehensive program designed to equip recent nursing graduates with the knowledge, skills, and support needed to excel in their careers.
Our Graduate Nurse Program provides an extensive orientation and a supportive learning environment to ensure a smooth transition into professional practice. Each graduate is paired with an experienced nurse preceptor and nurse educator, who offer guidance, mentorship, and ongoing support throughout the program. Participants also have access to a range of advanced skill development opportunities, including Urgent Care Workshops (IV cannulation, fracture management, immobilization, x-ray, and emergency birth), Advanced Life Support training, the Rural Urgent Care Nursing Program through Alfred Emergency Education, and the Rural and Isolated (Scheduled Medicines) Registered Nurse Course via the Cunningham Centre— equipping graduates with the expertise needed for rural nursing.
In collaboration with Mildura Base Public hospital and Swan Hill District Health you will attend six additional paid study days to promote and encourage professional development which may include:
To be eligible, you must have graduated from an undergraduate nursing degree or a diploma of nursing within the last two years and have a genuine interest in learning how to provide care in rural settings.

Throughout the program, graduates benefit from hands on clinical practice, dedicated mentorship, and ongoing professional education, ensuring a strong foundation for a successful nursing career in rural healthcare.
At the completion of 12 month graduate program, you will have the skills and confidence to lead the clinical team to deliver care to rural communities. We encourage Mallee Track Health and Community Care nurses to progress their knowledge and skills and obtain recognition for advanced practice. We encourage and support staff to pursue post graduate qualifications including Graduate Certificate, Diploma and Masters including Nurse Practitioner.
