What do we offer?

Social support programs are based in community venues and are run on a weekly basis across MTHCS catchment area. Morning, afternoon tea and lunch are provided with activities. You might know them as Planned Activity Groups (PAGs). We have a team of experienced staff who coordinate these activities.

Activities may include outings, craft, games, reminiscing and attending community events of interest.  Group members are asked to have input into the planning of upcoming activities.

We also coordinate monthly Meet and Eat groups that involve a day trip to a nearby pub or restaurant.

Friendly Visiting

Not everyone likes to attend group based social support programs, however social support can be provided in customers’ own home on a regular basis.

The friendly visiting program matches volunteers to people who live at home and would like someone to chat to, require assistance with pets, assistance on outings or just support to see a health professional.

Who is eligible?

You may need to be assessed through My Aged Care.

Who are the friendly visitors?

Visitors are local volunteers who have signed up to spend some time visiting people who are living at home and house-bound because of mobility or health issues.

Community availability

Groups meet weekly from mid-morning till midafternoon.  Groups are held regularly in Murrayville, Ouyen, Underbool, Sea Lake, Speed and Woomelang.
