Dietitians are experts in all areas of nutrition and help clients understand the relationship between food and health.

Dietitians provide client-centred care by delivering dietary advice to support adequate nutrition and hydration, resulting in a good quality of life and overall health.

MTHCS Dietitians provide services in acute care, permanent care, respite and the community, and can visit clients in their own homes. MTHCS Dietitians are on-site at Ouyen and Sea Lake and also cover the surrounding catchment areas.

Referrals to MTHCS Dietitians can be made for, but are not limited to:

  • Reduced oral intake or poor appetite resulting in unintentional weight loss
  • Chronic health conditions such as diabetes, high cholesterol, kidney disease and cancer
  • Food allergies or intolerances
  • Chronic pressure injuries or wounds
  • Vitamin or mineral deficiencies
  • Gastrointestinal disorders, such as irritable bowel syndrome
  • Healthy eating at all life stages
  • Oral nutrition support and artificial feeding
